Illustration Graphic Design Digital Media

Illustration is a powerful media that allows me to reach audiences in an immediate visual way. This compelling form of art is more visceral and subtle interpretations can be evoked almost instantaneously. I see illustration as an unlimited form of expression because it provides more opportunity for me to give form to my thoughts and emotions on paper.

My work focuses on expressing illustration through graphic means. The main subject, text and composition are at the forefront of my creations while backgrounds are usually secondary. I create graphics through the use of illustration, loosely following rules of font or principles of design. This is why I often describe myself as a graphic illustrator.

This may be due to my conflicting sources of inspiration, the mathematically accurate M.C. Escher and the abstract rebel Gustav Klimt. Much like their works, abstraction is employed in many of my creations but the symbolism is obvious as to not confuse the viewer. I count myself among artists who create art for themselves to satisfy their muse, yet I also seek the opportunity to match my ideas to the vision of perspective clients. This is reflected in my work by creating pieces that satisfy both my personal and professional pursuits. Applying my creations to commercial applications serves not only the vision of my ideas, but the ideas of my clients as well.
